The New York Knicks secured a vital 114-98 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday to tie their first-round series 2-2.

New York used size to their advantage on both ends in the first quarter. After 12 minutes, the Knicks’ paint dominance helped them carve out a 27-20 lead.

In the second quarter, the Knicks took a long-range approach while continuing to increase their lead. The Hawks shot 11-of-19 in the second frame, but gave up nine turnovers.

After one half, the Knicks remained ahead by 14.

As turnovers continued to be a major issue, the Hawks slipped further and further into a deficit. Karl-Anthony Towns was doing a little bit of everything for New York as the Knicks got some scoring from everyone.

Strong three-point shooting and disciplined defense helped the Knicks maintain a double-digit lead for both of the final two quarters.

Towns finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while OG Anunoby put up 22 points and 10 rebounds.

For Atlanta, CJ McCollum had 17 points and two blocks while Jalen Johnson had 14 points and five assists.

James Parker contributed to this story.
