The Charlotte Hornets and the Cleveland Cavaliers battled it out until the final minute in Charlotte last night. The Hornets squeaked out a 118-111 win over the Cavs after Brandon Miller dropped a career-high seven threes with 31 points and six rebounds.

The Contest was close for the first two quarters, with the Cavs leading 70-69 at halftime.

However, from the start of the third quarter until the game’s final minutes, the Hornets held the Cavs to only four threes and 9 second-chance points throughout the second half.

The Hornets lockdown defense would cause 13 total turnovers throughout the game and would not give up one basket after the 3:28 mark in the 4th quarter.

For the Cavs, Jarrett Allen almost single-handedly kept his team in the game, shooting 78 percent from the field and finishing with 24 points and 8 rebounds.

Max Strus and Sam Merrill added 19 and 17 points, respectively, but their efforts were not enough to challenge the Hornets.

Miller spoke about his confidence in the team heading into the final weeks of the season.

“We are going to go into every game with the mindset of just competing,” said Miller. ” Giving it 100 percent from the start of the game to the finish.”

With this win, the Hornets broke a five-game losing streak and hope to end the season on a strong note.
