NFL prospect Zachariah Branch arrested in Georgia on two charges

Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver and NFL draft prospect Zachariah Branch was arrested in Georgia Sunday morning on two misdemeanor charges, according to police reports.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero obtained the police report regarding the arrest, which said Branch “failed to comply with multiple verbal lawful commands” to move away from the sidewalk.

Branch was placed under arrest and spent just over two hours in custody before posting his $39 bond. He now faces charges of misdemeanor obstructing a public sidewalk and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

The arrest reportedly took place after Georgia’s spring game, which attended in support his his brother Zion, a safety for the Bulldogs.

Branch is projected to be drafted on the second day of the draft after setting a new school record with 81 receptions for 811 yards and six touchdowns for Georgia last season.
