Four-star safety Charles Woodson Jr. has committed to the Michigan Wolverines, following in the footsteps of his father.

Woodson is a 5’10” safety and was named an All-American after recording 73 tackles, two interceptions and two touchdowns for Lake Nona High School in Orlando.

“He’s dynamic,” Lake Nona head coach David Aubrey told On3.com. “He’s explosive. Has a very high football IQ. Does well, very diverse, does well in zone coverage and man coverage. What I think is the most impressive thing is how physical he is.”

He’ll now join the Wolverines 31 years after his father, Charles Woodson Sr., did the same.

Woodson Sr. played three legendary seasons with the Wolverines from 1995-1997, leading them to a national championship in 1997 while becoming the first defensive player ever to win the Heisman Trophy.

He went on to have a Hall-of-Fame career in the NFL, playing for the Raiders and Green Bay Packers and racking up nine Pro Bowl appearances.

In addition to being the 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Woodson Sr. was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
