Anthony Edwards was lethal in the fourth quarter on Sunday as he led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a series-tying 114-109 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4.

Sunday’s matchup was a physical roller coaster of small momentum swings in both directions.

De’Aaron Fox led the way early as the Spurs maintained a narrow advantage in the first, but Minnesota went on a smothering scoring run to end the quarter with a four-point lead.

After three second-quarter minutes, Victor Wembanyama hit Naz Reid with a hard elbow to the throat. He was ultimately assessed a Flagrant II foul and was ejected from the game, finishing with four points and four rebounds in 12 minutes.

The second frame saw Minnesota maintain their small advantage for most of the period. Once again, an explosive scoring run turned the tide near the end of the quarter.

San Antonio remained down by just four at halftime and kept their run going to start the second half. The Spurs pounded the paint to jump out to an eight-point lead, despite missing Wembanyama.

They carried this advantage over into the fourth and it looked like the Spurs were about to take a 3-1 lead. But Anthony Edwards erupted in clutch time, taking complete control down the stretch.

He rattled of 16 points in 11 fourth-quarter minutes, helping the Timberwolves regain the lead and tie the series.

Edwards finished with 36 points and six rebounds on 13-of-22 shooting.

For the Spurs, Fox finished with 24 points and four rebounds while Dylan Harper came off the bench for 24 points and seven rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting.
