The UConn Huskies took down the Duke Blue Devils 73-72 in the Elite 8 on Sunday thanks to a miracle shot by Braylon Mullins.
The spectacular shot comes after an impressive comeback by the Huskies. They faced a 19-point deficit as it looked like the Blue Devils had all but punched their ticket to the Final Four.
Slowly but surely, UConn chipped away at the lead and with 90 seconds to play, Duke led by four. Blue Devils freshman Cameron Boozer then lost the ball on a crucial turnover before Alex Karaban knocked down a three to make it a one-point game.
Boozer responded with a tough layup on other end to extend the lead back to three and force a timeout. Duke went on to foul Silas Demary Jr., who made one of two attempts at the line. With ten seconds to play and a two-point advantage, all signs pointed to a Blue Devils win.
That’s when the Huskies double-teamed Cayden Boozer and forced a bad pass. With just under five seconds to play, Mullins grabbed the lost ball and passed it away before getting the ball right back and knocking down a 35-foot three with less than half a second to play.
The unreal shot capped off one of the greatest March Madness comebacks in recent memory.
