Kobe Bryant was one of the best NBA players that’s ever played the game of basketball. He was also one of the most popular players the game has ever seen.

One of the reasons why Kobe became not only a winner but a popular star was his attitude on the court. This mentality was famously known as ‘The Mamba Mentality.’

Even as a young player, Kobe was not fearful. He was ready to attack any player who stood in his way. This includes a young Ben Wallace.

It was a preseason game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards. The game was played at the Mack Center in Las Vegas, and Kobe was ready to put on a show.

Kobe crossed over Jimmy Oliver and was met by future four-time Defensive Player of the Year winner Ben Wallace. On this play, Kobe would get the upper hand on Wallace.

Kobe’s in-your-face slam dunk was his true “I’m here” NBA moment.

Apparently, Kobe knew he wanted to posterize Wallace. This is according to former teammate Nick Van Exel.

“Kobe told us, ‘I’m about to cross this fool up and dunk on him’… and he did it!”

Kobe would have many more big slam dunks. He’d also become one of the greatest players in NBA history by winning five NBA championships.
