Kobe crossed over Jimmy Oliver and was met by future four-time Defensive Player of the Year winner Ben Wallace. On this play, Kobe would get the upper hand on Wallace.
Kobe’s in-your-face slam dunk was his true “I’m here” NBA moment.
Apparently, Kobe knew he wanted to posterize Wallace. This is according to former teammate Nick Van Exel.
“Kobe told us, ‘I’m about to cross this fool up and dunk on him’… and he did it!”
