Warriors fans react to Play-In spot: “At least we avoid the Lakers”

The Golden State Warriors failed to secure a playoff spot after losing 124-119 to the Los Angeles Clippers. This appeared to be a negative, as the Warriors will now have to play at least one extra game before possibly clinching a postseason berth.

To some fans, however, there’s a sigh of relief. The Warriors have avoided a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers and this appears to be a good thing for some Warriors fans.

On the Golden State of Mind live game thread, one fan liked the idea of avoiding the Lakers.

“Well better luck in the play-in. At least we avoid the Lakers. Potential date against Rockets.”

Another fan on the thread expressed his displeasure on how the Warriors ended their season.

“Really pathetic last week of the season. losing the HOU is excusable but sucked, but these other 2 losses aren’t. bad way to end the year.”

On the social media platform X, one fan still has high hopes for the Warriors.

If the Warriors want to make a deep playoff run they’ll have to take care of business tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies. The only problem is, the Warriors are 0-3 all-time in Play-In games.

Will that change tonight?
