UNLV Rebels Beat Northern Arizona 89–77 Behind Mack’s 31

Sebastian Mack scored 31 points as UNLV opened its men’s college basketball season with an 89–77 win over Northern Arizona on Tuesday.

UNLV Rebels defeated the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 89–77 on Tuesday in their men’s college basketball season opener.

Sebastian Mack scored 31 points on 10-of-20 shooting, hitting 4 of 9 three-point attempts and 7 of 8 free throws. He scored 14 of those points after halftime. Cam Miles added 15 points on 4-of-12 shooting, including 2 of 7 from three, and made all five free throws. Jeremy Foumena recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 6 of 9 from the field and 1 of 3 at the line.

Chris Komin led Northern Arizona with 24 points and two steals. Lucas Toukam scored 16 points, and Ryan Abelman contributed 12. The second half included five lead changes and four ties before UNLV pulled away.

Both teams play Saturday: UNLV hosts Samford, and Northern Arizona travels to face New Mexico.

According to The Associated Press, the game was the season opener for both teams.
