Tyrese Haliburton made history in the Eastern Conference Finals. His 20-point, 10-assist average at age 25 has made him the youngest player to achieve this average in a Conference Finals win.

Haliburton’s average, along with his two steals per game, also made him just the third player to achieve this feat. He joined Magic Johnson and Russell Westbrook.

Tyrese Haliburton’s rise to stardom

Haliburton was drafted 12th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2020. In 109 games with the Kings, Haliburton played solid, averaging 13.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

Despite Haliburton’s stellar play, the Kings decided to move him. On February 8, 2022, Sacramento traded Haliburton and two other players to the Indiana Pacers for Domantas Sabonis, two other players, and a second-round draft pick.

Once in Indiana, Haliburton quickly became a star. In four seasons so far with the Pacers, Haliburton has averaged 19.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 10.1 assists per game.

Haliburton won an assist title in the 2023-24 season and made two All-Star appearances. Now, he has his team in the NBA Finals—only the second time in Pacers franchise history.

Can Haliburton lead the Pacers to their first NBA title? Only time will tell.

Game 1 of the Finals is Thursday, June 5, at 8:30 PM EST.
