The Dallas Stars evened their series with the Minnesota Wild with a 4-2 win in Game 2. The Wild won Game 1 by a score of 6-1.
The teams exchanged goals in the first period. Wyatt Johnston got the Stars on the board just nine minutes into the game before Brock Faber tied up the game just three minutes later.
Matt Duchene then scored a power-play goal in the second period to make it 2-1, and a Jason Robertson tip-in goal in the third made it 3-1. Faber scored his second of the game with 10:13 left in the game to make it 3-2. However, a costly too-many-men-on-the-ice penalty with 1:21 remaining killed the Wild’s momentum. Johnston would score the empty-netter and clinch the 4-2 win.
Stars goalie Jake Oettinger had quite the redemption game. He saved 28 out of 30 shots, including stopping all five power-play shots. It was much better than Game 1, where he saved 23 out of 28 shots, and only five out of seven shots from the power-play.
Game 3 will be in Minnesota, where each team will look to fight for a 2-1 series lead. It will be played on Wednesday, April 22, at 9:30 p.m. ET.
