In a battle between rookie quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward on Sunday, Ward’s titans escaped with a 31-29 victory.
While Cleveland took a heartbreaking loss, Sanders had a historic individual performance. The rookie threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns to go along with a rushing touchdown. He completed 23 of his 42 attempts and threw one interception.

Not only is Sanders the first rookie this season to throw for 300+ yards, he’s also the first Browns rookie ever to throw for 300+ yards and three touchdowns while also scoring a rushing touchdown.
With less than 90 seconds to play, Sanders found Harold Fannin Jr. in the end zone to cut Tennessee’s lead to just two. That’s when the Browns opted to take Sanders out and attempt a two-point conversion with Quinshon Judkins.
This attempt failed and the Titans held on to their lead for the victory.
For the Titans, Ward finished with 117 passing yards and two passing touchdowns while also throwing an interception.
Cleveland is now 3-10 on the season, but Sanders will get the chance to continue his strong play next week against the Chicago Bears.
