Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Roki Sasaki spun together seven scoreless innings of work during the Dodgers 1-0 win against the Los Angeles Angels Friday night, courtesy of a Freddie Freeman walk-off home run.

During those seven innings, Roki sat down 10 Angel’s hitters by way of the strikeout, the highest in his career.
Sasaki has struggled to really find his groove in the U.S. since coming over from Japan last season. After some early struggles in the 2025 season, Sasaki was sidelined for a majority of the season due to injury.
However, come the playoffs, Sasaki seemed to find another gear coming out of the Dodger bullpen. Through his 10.2 IP, Sasaki posted a 0.84 ERA.
Unfortunately for the Japanese hurler, this season seemed to be following a similar trajectory in terms of struggle. However, in his last 5 starts, including Friday night, he’s posted a much better 2.16 ERA.
For Sasaki the name of the game is just finding his form that was so dangerous in Japan. With each quality start comes the confidence needed to help sprout a budding career like his own.
