Oregon defense dominates Texas Tech in the Orange Bowl

The Oregon Ducks defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Orange Bowl 23-0. It was the first time all season Oregon put up a shutout.

Texas Tech struggled to find any consistency on the offensive side of the ball. The Red Raiders came into the game with the fourth highest scoring offense in the FBS with 42.5 points per game and the highest turnover margin in the nation. However, quarterback Behren Morton threw two interceptions and Texas Tech lost two fumbles, which was too much for them to overcome.

Oregon’s defense completely shut down Texas Tech’s offense. The Red Raiders were limited to 206 offensive yards, 10 first downs and were 6/16 on third downs.

Oregon will now play the winner of the Rose Bowl between Alabama and Indiana in the semifinals.
