The No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers found themselves in a tough battle against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday afternoon, facing a four-point deficit in the redzone with 40 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
That’s when Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza heaved a mid-field pass to receiver Omar Cooper, who leaped through the sky to catch the ball and barely landed inside the end zone before falling out of bounds.

The exceptional toe-tap gave the Hoosiers a three-point lead and the eventual victory.
Mendoza put together an impressive game-winning drive, after which Indiana’s defense held strong against Penn State’s final attempt.
The Hoosiers are now 10-0 on the season and Mendoza is playing like a strong candidate to win the Heisman.
