Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov has won his second-career Hart Memorial Trophy as the regular-season MVP. He finished second in the league in points with 130 in 76 games, highlighted by a 50-game stretch where he recorded 104 points.

Kucherov barely edged out Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid, finishing only ten points ahead in voting. He led the NHL in points per game and finished second in assists and even-strength points.

He is only the fifth winger all-time to win two Harts, joining Bill Cowley, Ovechkin, Guy Lafleur, and Bobby Hull. Kucherov last won the award during his historic 2019 campaign, when he led the Lightning to 62 wins.

Head coach John Cooper surprised Kucherov with the Hart Memorial Trophy last week at the Lightning practice facility.
