NFL world reacts to Younghoe Koo’s improbable field goal blunder

New York giants kicker Younghoe Koo has been in the spotlight for the wrong reason over the past 24 hours. While trailing in the second quarter against the New England Patriots on Monday, Koo missed the ball completely on a 47-yard field goal attempt, digging his toe into the turf.

Once Koo missed the ball, punter Jamie Gillan was forced to make an attempt at evading the Patriots defenders before being tackled for a loss.

Naturally, the mistake shocked players, fans and broadcasters alike.

After the game, Koo explained that the ball was slippery and had been moving as he went in for the kick, forcing him to pull up.

Regardless, the extra points wouldn’t have saved the Giants, who took a lopsided 33-15 loss in the matchup.

They are now 2-11 on the season and have lost seven straight games.
