Thibodeau brought the Knicks out from the basement of the league to relevancy. From 2001 to 2020, New York won a single playoff series.

Under Thibodeau, they won a playoff series in three straight seasons. Their trip to the Eastern Conference Finals was the first time the franchise reached this stage since 2000.

Was Thibodeau’s firing unfair? It certainly seems that way. But Thibodeau will be smiling knowing he still has $30M coming his way.
