The New York Mets pulled off a tremendous comeback on Sunday to take down the New York Yankees 7-6 and win the Subway Series.

Solid fielding from both sides kept it a scoreless game until Ben Rice put the Yankees on the board with a solo home run in the top of the third inning.
The Mets continued to struggle at the plate before Marcus Semien sent in a run on a double to make it a 1-1 game in the bottom of the fourth.
They sent back three Yankees hitters before coming up empty again in the fifth inning. The Yankees began to jump ahead in the top of the sixth, Anthony Volpe sent in two runners on a line-drive single and Amed Rosario followed it up with an RBI sac fly.
That’s when Mets infielder Bo Bichette dropped a pop-fly and allowed another run to make it a 5-1 game.
Luis Torrens made it a 5-3 ballgame in the sixth, but the Yankees went back up 6-3 on an RBI walk shortly after.
Both squads went scoreless in the eighth as it looked like the Yankees would hold on in the ninth to secure the win. But solid fielding from the Mets kept the Yankees scoreless in the top of the inning.
Down by three with one more shot at a comeback, the Mets got two runners on base, but two batters out as well. That’s when Tyrone Taylor stepped to the plate and slammed a huge three-run homer to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
The Mets were disciplined on the field to hold the Yankee scoreless again in the top of the 10th inning. In the bottom of the 10th, the Mets managed to get Semien on third base before Carson Benge chopped a pitch just to the right of the mound.
Two Yankees infielders collided on the play, allowing Semien to reach home and secure the series victory.
