The Los Angeles Lakers lost 123-116 to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. One main reason was Luka Doncic‘s play, which he dubbed “unacceptable.”

LeBron James scored 33 points on 10-15 shooting, including 5-8 from three. Austin Reaves stepped up to score 31 and you’d think that would be enough to overcome Stephen Curry‘s incredible 37 points, but outside of LeBron and Reaves, the Lakers didn’t get much help.

Doncic is a superstar in the league and you’d expect him to be the player to step up and help LeBron, but not in this game. The Slovenian basketball star struggled, shooting just 6-17 overall and 0-6 from downtown, as he scored 19. Doncic took full responsibility after the game, understanding his performance was unacceptable.
“I think they were playing good defense,” Doncic said. “I think we didn’t play with enough trust, especially me. That performance from me is unacceptable. When I play like that, it makes for the team harder to win. So, just got to figure that out.”

Doncic will likely bounce back from his poor performance, as all great players do. The Lakers next play tonight at 10:30 EST against the New Orleans Pelicans. It won’t be a surprise if Doncic goes off and has one of his best games of the season.
