Luka Doncic has been having a fantastic summer. He’s possibly in the best shape of his life, and he just signed a three-year, $165 million contract extension.

The Los Angeles Lakers failed to make noise in the 2025 postseason, losing in five games to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round. Despite this loss, Doncic is confident his squad is a title contender heading into the 2025-26 season.

“I think we have a great team. We have what we need to compete for the championship,” Doncic said. “I’ll try to win every game no matter what, and we’ve got some new great guys on the team, so you know we’re going to go for it.

“To build a team to win a championship. I think we added two great guys,” Doncic continued. “I played against them before but never with them, so I’m happy they’re on my team.”

The Lakers easily could make some real noise in the upcoming season. With Doncic and LeBron James on your roster, you’ll always be a title contender.
