The NBA has released a list of the highest selling jerseys in the league this season and L.A. Lakers star Luka Doncic has secured this season’s top spot.
Since 2012-13, Stephen Curry and LeBron James have been the only two players to lead the league in jersey sales, but Doncic is now the first international player to ever do so.

Doncic was traded to the Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks just before the trade deadline in a move that rocked the NBA landscape and sent his jersey sales through the roof. Curry and James followed behind Doncic on the list as Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brunson made it to the top five.

As Mavericks fans have struggled with the sudden loss of their franchise player, the franchise is projected to lose hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue as a result of the trade.
Meanwhile, the Lakers finished this season at the top of the league in total merchandise sales.
The top spot in jersey sales is likely an afterthought at best in Doncic’s mind, but it’s an achievement worthy of acknowledging.
