The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Toronto Raptors on Thursday without Luka Doncic. It was for a good reason. Doncic and fiancée Anamaria gave birth to their second child on Wednesday.
The Lakers on the court battled hard despite the absence of Doncic. This is especially true of Austin Reaves, as he dropped 44 points and 11 assists. Rui Hachimura wound up being the hero, drilling the game-winning three, giving LA the 123-120 victory.
This was the bright side of the game. The other side saw a historic streak get snapped. Yes, LeBron James’ streak of double-digit scoring games was at 1,297 before Thursday’s game.
It has officially been snapped.
Against the Raptors, LeBron shot just 4-17 and finished with only eight points. It is starting to look like Father Time is finally catching up with King James.
