Landeskog wins Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog has won the 2025-26 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.

Landeskog returned to play last postseason after missing three consecutive regular seasons due to a major knee injury suffered in the 2022 postseason. The 33-year-old became the first player in NHL history to win both the Masterton Trophy and the Mark Messier Leadership Award.

Landeskog underwent cartilage replacement in 2023 and is the first player to return to play after that procedure. He led the Avalanche to a Presidents’ Trophy win in his first season back, recording 35 points in 60 games.

The other finalists for the award were Winnipeg’s Johnathan Toews and Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin.
