Lakers lose to Hawks despite LeBron-AD domination

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 134-132 in a close overtime matchup on Friday. Hawks star Trae Young sank the game-winning three with just over seven seconds left in overtime.

After L.A. took a three-point lead in the first quarter, the Hawks did the same in the second quarter and tied the game going into halftime. Coincidentally, the same process repeated in the second half with both team shooting at least 50% from the floor and 40% from 3PT range.

In overtime, both teams stayed hot and James even recovered on defense for a ridiculous chase-down block with 25.7 left in OT. After the Lakers lost possession, Young iced the game with a pull up three.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, LeBron James played well for the Lakers and finished with 39 points, 11 assists and ten rebounds. Anthony Davis also had a monster game with 38 points, ten rebounds and eight assists.

For Atlanta, Trae Young had a great performance with 31 points and 20 assists. The win is Atlanta’s sixth in a row as they move to 13-11 on the season.

The loss is L.A.’s seventh in their last nine outing, dropping them to 12-11 on the year.
