Knicks fan nearly hits Victor Wembanyama with egg after Game 4

Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs suffered one of the most heart-breaking defeats in NBA history on Wednesday, conceding a 29-point lead to the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

After the one-point loss, the French superstar’s night was made even worse by a crowd of hostile Knicks fans outside of the team’s hotel.

While the Spurs stepped off the bus and into the hotel, video showed Wembanyama being hit with a barrage of boos from fans blocked off by road barriers.

As he approached the hotel door, a fan hurled at least one egg in his direction.

It appeared to break on a street sign near him and it’s unclear if it actually struck him in any way.

It’s also unclear who threw the egg, but Wembanyama appeared to confront someone near the hotel entrance before eventually entering the building.

When asked about it later on, the NYPD said it did not have anything on file regarding an incident with an egg. The streets of New York seem to get chaotic whether the Knicks win or lose, but there are lines that fans should not cross.

Unfortunately, some Knicks fans seem to be crossing those lines more often as this series progresses.
