Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper was arrested on two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief Thursday night, according to TMZ.

It’s currently unclear what type of incident occurred or what led to his arrest, but the 28-year-old is set to appear in court on Friday with another hearing set for Monday.

“We are aware of the matter and are gathering more information,” the Broncos said in a statement to reporters.

The newest update clarifies that Cooper’s girlfriend was also arrested after Thursday night’s alleged incident.

Jonathon was drafted by the Broncos out of Ohio State in the seventh round of the 2021 draft. He’s since become a full-time starter and has started every game for the last three seasons.

In 2025, he recorded 50 total tackles and eight sacks over 17 games.
