The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night 135-124 in Cleveland’s second loss of the season.
Cleveland started off strong and dominated early, jumping out to a 19-point advantage before Atlanta responded and tied the game after the first quarter.

The second quarter was also a back-and-forth battle between the two squads and Cleveland was up by three at the half.
While Cleveland’s offense performed equally strong in the second half, the Hawks’ offense exploded for 37 points in each of the last two quarters. Atlanta was in charge of the fourth quarter and pulled away in the final minutes.
Trae Young struggled from deep but played very well in other areas, finishing with 20 points and 22 assists as seven Hawks finished in double figures.

For Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell had 30 points and seven assists as the Hawks finished the game shooting 47% from three, compared to just 31% for the Cavs.
The loss drops Cleveland to 17-2 on the season while Atlanta improved to 8-11.
