Golden Knights beat Ducks, advance to Western Conference Final

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are advancing to the Western Conference Finals following their Game 6 win over the Anaheim Ducks. It will be their fifth appearance in the last nine years.

Mitch Marner got the Golden Knights on the board with a breakaway goal just 1:02 into the game. From that moment on, the Golden Knights never looked back. Brett Howden scored shorthanded, and Shea Theodore added another to make it 3-0 at the end of the first. Mikael Granlund got one back for the Ducks, but it was not nearly enough. Pavel Dorofeyev added two more to make a final score of 5-1.

The Golden Knights’ offense was too much for the Ducks. They scored three goals or more in five out of the six games, and scored at least five goals in two of the games.

The Western Conference Finals will now be between the Golden Knights and the Colorado Avalanche. Game 1 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20.
