Gilbert Arenas Calls Out Draymond Green For Game 2 Antics

The Golden State Warriors are now tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves after their Game 2 loss on Thursday, with Stephen Curry still expected to miss at least the next two games in this series.

Early in the matchup, Draymond Green had a heated interaction with the officials after hitting Naz Reid with an elbow to the head. He received a technical foul on the play, but somehow avoided a second, despite his hostile behavior towards the referees.

Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas called out Green for his antics, claiming there’s an underlying motive for his actions.

“The Warriors should be concerned,” Arenas said on his show Gil’s Arena. “Whenever Steph is not playing, Draymond is trying to get his a** kicked out the game.”

Thursday’s incident was far from Green’s first as he’s carved out a reputation as one of the league’s most hostile players. He’s never been the first scoring option for the Warriors, but he’s invaluable to their defense and a suspension would make the Warriors’ rotation even thinner.

He’s received five technical fouls in the 2025 playoffs and an automatic suspension is handed down after the seventh.

Arenas is also concerned that Curry may not be at full strength when he returns from his hamstring injury.

“You think you can play without Steph when you realize that a week is four, three games for them so for the most part he’s going to miss three games…they’ll try to put him in second game…when they get back…so Game 4 but he’s probably going to be hobble-ly,” Arenas said.

The Warriors were able to steal Game 1 on the road, but the next two matchups at home without Curry will make or break their series, with Game 3 set for Saturday.
