One of the biggest storylines in the NBA this season has been the tumultuous relationship between the Milwaukee Bucks and superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
After a year full of rumors and questions, Antetokounmpo appeared on former Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic‘s podcast. He turned heads when speaking on the city of Miami.

“It’s very hard to turn your back, but at the same time you’re competitive. You want to win, everybody wants to win, so you gotta make the best decision for yourself,” Antetokounmpo said.
When asked about moving to a warmer climate, Antetokounmpo brought up Miami himself.
“Miami is not at a bad place. It’s a beautiful, beautiful city.”
The Heat were one of several teams that reportedly took part in trade discussions regarding Antetokounmpo this season. Given the heightened uncertainty around his future with the Bucks, these comments aren’t meaningless.
When asked if he prefers to vacation in Miami or Los Angeles, his answer was clear.
“Miami. Miami. Miami. I think LA is super superficial. … I don’t like LA.”
While these comments don’t necessarily reflect his basketball goals, it’s very interesting that Antetokounmpo brought up Miami unprompted.
He’s expressed his love for Milwaukee and his willingness to stay put, but he’s also made it clear over the last few seasons that he probably wouldn’t hate a change of scenery.
