His physical tools and skills on the court make him a generational talent, but the “Greek Freak” is also humble.
LeBron James made a comment this week on the Pat McAfee Show that Giannis Antetokounmpo ‘would average 250 points’ if he was playing in the 1970’s version of the NBA. The nine-time All-Star, two-time league MVP, and 2021 NBA Champion was flattered by the compliment, but he does share James’ thought process. Antetokounmpo is in his twelfth season with the Milwaukee Bucks and as a former first-round selection of the 2013 NBA Draft, he feels ‘it is not fair’ to compare eras.

Giannis on LeBron saying he’d score 250 points in a 1970s game:
“It’s wrong take…probably more 275 ???? I’m joking. Great compliment. But I don’t like comparing eras. It’s not fair. If I played in the 70s, how everybody practiced & played, we’d play same way…The game evolves…” pic.twitter.com/p3rtCK38nj

“It’s a wrong take… It would probably be more like 275, not 250,”Antetokounmpo said jokingly.
“I’m joking. Great compliment. But I don’t like comparing eras. It’s not fair… The game evolves. If I played in the 70’s, how everybody practiced and how everybody played … we would have played the same way. That is all you knew at the time. It is totally different, so you can’t compare that era to this era. I wish in this era that I could score 250 points. I don’t think that it is fair to compare because I think I would probably be playing the same way they did in the 70’s.”
