A sense of urgency happened Friday on Milwaukee’s bench as the Bucks took Game 3 from the Pacers.
Indiana carried a 2-0 lead in the first round of this Eastern Conference playoff series, yet someone brought an intensity from three-point range for Milwaukee. Gary Trent Jr., a former second-round pick and Duke standout, said enough is enough.

The seven-year veteran is in his first season with the Bucks and went off for 37 points.

He tied Giannis Antetokounmpo for Milwaukee’s team-high in the 117-101 win, but what opened people’s eyes to him was his electric 3-point shooting. Trent tied a franchise record with nine made 3’s on 12 attempts. He shot 11-of-16 from the field in 34 minutes, while posting three rebounds and four steals. Indiana had no answers for him defensively as he made sure the Pacers did not grab a 3-0 stranglehold lead on the Bucks in the series. The “Greek Freak” is the undisputed leader, but it was outstanding for Antetokounmpo to have help in a big spot. Trent came up big time and Milwaukee will need consistency from him going forward.
Game 4 will be in Milwaukee next Tuesday via NBA TV. We will see if the Bucks can even the series at 2.
