Quarterback Fernando Mendoza is projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Any debate on that may have ended after he put on a show of nearly-perfect passing at Wednesday’s Pro Day.

The former Indiana Hoosier and 2025 Heisman Trophy winner declined to participate in the NFL Combine, but did take part in the Hoosiers’ Pro Day on Wednesday.

Mendoza threw a variety of pinpoint passes throughout the showcase, all while front office members from all 32 NFL teams looked on. He completed 53 of his 56 total pass attempts in the outing.

The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the top pick and will almost certainly draft Mendoza with it. They will reportedly have dinner with Mendoza following the conclusion of Pro Day.

While he didn’t participate in any of the speed or performance drills, Mendoza’s passing performance at the Pro Day further cements him as the overwhelming favorite to be the first player drafted in just over three weeks.
