Egypt uses three unanswered goals to secure comeback victory against New Zealand.

This win marks the first time the nation has ever achieved a World Cup victory.

New Zealand would find the back of the net early thanks to a Finn Surman header in the 15th.

At the half, Surman’s goal would make the difference, leading New Zealand into the locker rooms up 1-0.

New Zealand would have the slight advantage with shots, outshooting Egypt seven to six in the first half.

But Egypt would come out of the half searching for their equalizer.

But a scare in the 52nd almost saw them go down by two, but a spectacular save by Egyptian goalkeeper Mostafa Shoubir would keep the deficit at one.

And Egypt would make sure to repay the favor for their goalkeeper in the 58th minute.

Mohamed Hany would make a strong cross into the box where Mostafa Zico would fire a free header straight into net.

And they weren’t done there.

In the 67th minute, Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah slotted a shot into the bottom left corner.

In the 82nd Trézéguet would make sure to put the game away after heading in a corner.

The remainder of second half would come to a conclusion.

Seeing Egypt secure their first World Cup win in history after a 3-1 comeback victory over New Zealand.

New Zealand and Egypt will both play their final group stage match at 11 a.m. on Friday.

New Zealand will take on Belgium as both nations desperately search for a win.

And Egypt will face off against Iran, looking to secure their top spot in Group G
