East Texas A&M Lions defeated Oklahoma Sooners 68–64 on Monday night at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla., in the season opener for both teams.

Bo Aldridge scored 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead all scorers. Mohamed Diakite and Alonzo Dodd each added 15 points. The Lions held the lead after going up 13–12 with 12 minutes, 59 seconds left in the first half.

Oklahoma tied the score at 58 and again at 60 with 2 minutes, 51 seconds remaining but did not take the lead again. Aldridge made two free throws with three seconds left to clinch the victory.

Pop Isaacs scored 15 points for Oklahoma. Derrion Reid recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds. Xzayvier Brown did not play because of a lower-body injury.

The loss ended Oklahoma’s 30-game non-conference winning streak at Lloyd Noble Center. It was the Sooners’ first season-opening defeat since a 52–51 loss to Sam Houston in the 2022–23 season.

East Texas A&M’s win was its first in the series. Oklahoma won the previous two meetings: 84–56 on November 21, 2024, and 87–59 on December 1, 1970.

East Texas A&M travels to Rice on Thursday. Oklahoma hosts Mississippi Valley State on Friday.
