Phoenix let go of Mike Budenholzer and Kevin Durant is leaving in the summer, but the Suns look to make Devin Booker the centerpiece of its franchise.
The former University of Kentucky standout finished his tenth season with the Suns. He got selected No. 13 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, but Booker and Phoenix failed to make the Western Conference playoffs this season. Booker, a four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA team selection, played a career-high 37.3 minutes per game. He average 25.6 points per matchup through 75 games and shot 46.1 percent from the field. Booker nailed three-pointers at 33.2% while dishing out a career-high 7.1 assists.

The 6-foot-6, 206-pounder will be on his eighth head coach entering his 11th season in the fall; however, “The Valley” believes in Booker as its superstar. According to Brian Windhorst, an NBA analyst for ESPN, the Suns will offer Booker a massive two-year extension this summer.

The extension is for $149.8 million. Booker, 28, is already under contract through 2027-28 and would make $75 million annually into his early-30s. He wants to advance to the next level of making deep playoff runs and win championships.
Phoenix is all in on Booker, but it needs to put more around him.
