Former NBA big man DeMarcus Cousins recently revealed something shocking about three-time MVP Nikola Jokic. He claimed that Jokic nearly retired right before signing his $300 million supermax deal with the Denver Nuggets.

“When I was with Denver, our lockers were next to each other. I don’t remember who, at the time, had signed an extension, but I’m like, ‘Yours is going to be crazy!’ He was like, ‘You know, Cuz, I honestly think I might retire before this contract.’

“I said, ‘Man, you out you’re motherf***ing mind,'” he continued. “I said, ‘Sign the contract and just get fat at worst.’ Don’t pass up on the $300 million. You can’t do that.”
It would be hard to imagine Jokic retiring while still in his prime. He made the right choice to return and possibly could win another title in the near future.
