The Los Angeles Lakers are often in the spotlight during the summer and this offseason is no exception. Most of the focus this offseason has been on the future of LeBron James‘ career and how much longer he will remain on the Lakers.

While no actual trade discussions have been confirmed, Bovada Sportsbook recently named the Dallas Mavericks as the team most likely to land James in a trade. Of course, this is only if James and the Lakers part ways.

The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers followed closely behind while the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks were also listed as long-shot possibilities.

The Mavericks recently hired Phil Handy to join the coaching staff. Handy was an assistant coach for the Lakers during their 2020 Championship run, a coaching staff that Mavs HC Jason Kidd was also a part of.

With familiar faces in the coaching staff as well as two of James’ former teammates in Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, the Mavericks appear to be James’ most probable trade destination.

While a LeBron James trade still seems very unlikely, it would certainly shake up the NBA landscape.
