Colombia would need just one in their victory over Ghana Friday night; they’re set to take on Switzerland in their round of 16 match up.

In the first minute, Ghana’s Thomas Partey would find the first shot of the match, sending it wide of the net.

But following the opening strike from Partey, Colombia would take control.

In the 14th minute and with their first shot on target, Jhon Arias would find the back of the net following a beautiful pass from Luis Díaz.

The half would see both sides go end to end, but in the 45+1st minute, it seemed Colombia doubled their advantage.

But Ghanian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi would make a fantastic save.

Colombia would take their one goal advantage into the half.

Into the second half, it would take Colombia only a few minutes to find their first shot on the second half in the 48th.

In the 55th minute Ati-Zigi would make yet another great save, this time denying Diáz.

And Diáz would find himself it another bit of excitement following a back post goal which doubled Colombia’s lead.

But after a brief celebration, Diáz would be denied another goal at the World Cup due to the offsides flag.

Colombia’s press would continue, with Davinson Sánchez forcing yet another great save from Ati-Zigi in the 81st minute.

The one goal advantage for Colombia would remain until the full-time whistle.

Colombia will match up against Switzerland at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
