Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham scored 33 points — his season high — to lead Detroit to a 124–91 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. The win was Detroit’s third consecutive.

Cunningham shot 13 of 20 from the field and recorded seven assists, five rebounds and five steals while playing three quarters. He did not appear in the fourth quarter. Duncan Robinson added 24 points, including six 3-pointers. Kevin Huerter made a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter alongside Robinson to push Detroit’s lead to 29 points, prompting Hornets coach Charles Lee to substitute freely.

The Pistons held the lead for most of the game and took an 11-point advantage into halftime. They led 98–75 after three quarters after connecting on 13 of their first 24 3-point attempts. Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller finished with 17 points. Center Naz Reid added 13.

Charlotte point guard Coby White made his season debut after missing the first seven games with a calf strain. He scored seven points on 3-of-8 shooting in 16 minutes. Lee said White will remain under a minutes restriction. Lee also said guard Kon Knueppel’s return is imminent.

The Pistons host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. The Hornets visit the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
