The Chicago Bulls began the season with a 6-1 record, at the top of the Eastern Conference. Then, reality struck. Chicago lost their next five games with the mighty Denver Nuggets up next.

Nikola Jokic is yet again playing at a historic MVP level and his Nuggets have been on a tear. They entered Monday’s game against the Bulls on a seven-game winning streak.

Denver would easily secure their eighth win. Right?

Wrong.

The young, feisty Bulls came ready to play and looked tough all game long. This includes holding an 18-point lead in the second quarter.

The Nuggets would battle back, with Jokic recording a 36-point, 18-rebound, and 13-assist triple-double. Denver also saw Jamal Murray go off for 34 points and 11 rebounds, but it wouldn’t be enough to stop the Bulls.

Chicago, led by 21 points from both Josh Giddey and Ayo Dosunmu, held off the Nuggets, thanks to a clutch three-pointer from Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls won 130-127, ending their losing streak.
