The Baltimore Ravens are now the latest NFL team to part ways with their head coach, firing John Harbaugh after 18 seasons.
Just two days after a season-ending loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the Ravens decided it was time for Harbaugh’s tenure in Baltimore to end.
“I will always be grateful for the extraordinary hard work and dedication displayed by John and his staff throughout the many successful years,” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in a statement. “I wish he, Ingrid and Allison all the best moving forward.”
They finished the season with an 8-9 record this season, just the third year with a losing record under Harbaugh.
While he coached them to 12 playoff appearances and a Super Bowl in 2021, Harbaugh has caught criticism for the lack of postseason success with quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Harbaugh, now a coaching free agent, is immediately the top head-coaching candidate across the league.
