BREAKING: Jaxon Smith-Njigba becomes highest paid WR in NFL history

Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba signed a four-year, $168.6 million contract extension to become the highest-paid WR in NFL history.

The deal averages $42.15 million per year with $120 million guaranteed. The two-time Pro Bowler and 2025 Offensive Player of the Year is now signed through 2031.

Smith-Njigba had quite the breakout season in year three. He set career highs with receptions (119), receiving yards (1,793), and touchdowns (10). His 1,793 yards also led the league. In the postseason, he finished with 17 catches for 199 yards and two touchdowns in three games. He also helped the Seahawks clinch their second Super Bowl victory in 12 years.
