The New York Giants have signed veteran DT D.J. Reader to a two-year deal worth $12.5 million per Jordan Schultz.

Reader adds more depth to the Giants’ defense, especially after trading away Dexter Lawrence. The Giants have also signed DTs Shelby Harris and Leki Fotu following the NFL Draft. Reader, who is 31, is a former fifth-round pick by the Houston Texans back in 2016.

Reader signed a four-year, $53 million dollar deal with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2020. He spent the last two seasons with the Detroit Lions, playing in 33 games and recording 52 tackles, including three sacks.
