BREAKING: Edge Nick Herbig, Steelers, agree to four-year extension

Charles LeClaire -- IMAGN IMAGES

Edge rusher Nick Herbig and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract with $42 million guaranteed. The deal is thought to be the first non-quarterback deal to surpass $100 million without starting an entire NFL season in his career.

Herbig was a fourth-round pick in 2023 and was set to be a free agent in 2027. He is coming off a career-high 7.5 sacks during the 2025 season. He also had 13 tackles for a loss and 18 quarterback hits throughout 15 games last season.

With Herbig now signed, the Steelers have plenty of depth at edge rusher. T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith are both signed through 2027, which could potentially mean a move in the future.

In his career, he has tallied 79 tackles, 16 sacks, nine forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and an interception.
