Long-time Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin has reportedly requested to be traded, according to multiple sources. Neither Larkin nor his agent has yet to comment on the situation.

Larkin has been with the franchise since 2015, playing in over 800 games with 276 goals and 367 assists. He has been selected to the All-Star Game three times.
The contract situation is where the details get tricky. Larkin has five years left on his contract at $8.7 million AAV and has a no-trade clause for the next two seasons. After that, it becomes a 10-team trade list.
Another interesting scenario is Detroit’s playoff chances. The organization made the playoffs every year from 1991-2016, winning four Stanley Cups during that span. Larkin did play in the playoffs his rookie season in 2015-16, but since then the franchise has failed to make the playoffs for 10 years.
Larkin was selected 14th overall by the Red Wings in the 2014 NHL draft.
