Braves reinstate five-time All-Star Ronald Acuna Jr. from injured list

The Atlanta Braves have officially reinstated five-time All-Star outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. from the injured list, they announced on Monday.

To make room for his return, the Braves also sent infielder Kyle Farmer to the IL with a strained right forearm as part of the move.

Acuna has been on the IL recovering from a Grade 1 hamstring strain since May 3 and has since been taking part in batting practice in order to ramp back up.

He suffered the injury while taking off from the batter’s box after getting a hit during a game against the Colorado Rockies. Shortly after starting his run, he began limping and grabbing at his hamstring.

While he is now healthy, he is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Miami Marlins. As the top team in baseball, the Braves have still been playing at a high-level with Acuna out.

They’ve posted an 8-5 record since his injury and boast the best record in baseball at 32-15. They’ll now bring their outfielder back into the starting lineup as early as Tuesday.
