Belgium and Egypt would the second World Cup match of the day with another draw, this one finished with a score of 1-1.
The match opened with both sides taking their turns moving up and down the field during an end-to-end start.
Though 18 minutes, only two shots had been taken, both coming from Belgium.
But that would change in the 19′ when Emam Ashour took the first Egyptian attempt on net and did not miss.
Sneaking the strike just past Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and into the net.
In the 33rd minute, Egypt would take just their second shot of the first half.
Mostafa Zico would push the attempt just wide of the net.
Late into the first half, Belgium squandered two scoring opportunities.
Leandro Trossard would attempt two shots in relatively quick succession, with both being blocked.
Stoppage time at the end of the first half saw some excitement.
Jérémy Doku would slice a first touch strike on a bouncing ball up and over the net in the 45+1 minute.
A crossing of wires between defender Nathan Ngoy and goalkeeper Courtois saw Egypt’s Omar Marmoush on goal with a great opportunity.
Marmoush, from an incredibly narrow, angle attempted the shot, but Courtois stood firm keeping the deficit at one.
At the half, Egypt led would take their 1-0 lead into the locker room.
While trailing at the half, Belgium’s offense during the first 45 was consistent, failing only to capitalize on opportunities in the box.
As for Egypt, following Ahour’s goal, they would only find 3 more attempts on net, with two of their four shots coming in stoppage time.
In the 51′ a set piece just outside the box gave the Belgians as a golden opportunity to equalize.
Kevin De Bruyne took the free kick, drilling the ball off the left post and squandering yet another opportunity.
In the 62′ Youri Tielemans took an Egyptian clearance and struck the ball midair from outside the box, just missing wide left.
In the 65′ Romelu Lukaku would come on in place of Charles De Ketelaere, and he would make an immediate impact.
Lukaka, not 30 seconds later, would force an Egyptian own goal by Mohamed Hany. Evening the game at 1-1.

Another Belgian set piece just outside the box gave them a prime opportunity to pull ahead late.
The De Bruyne kick was cleared away by Mostafa Shoubir.
But quickly recycled by the Belgians and floated back into the box.
Brandon Mechele would meet the pass, heading it onto goal.
Shoubir kept the game knotted at one with a spectacular save, going full extension to keep the ball out of the net.
The remainder of Group G will play tonight at Iran and New Zealand match up at 9 p.m.
Belgium and Egypt will both play their second match on Sunday.
Belgium will take on Iran at 3 p.m.
And Egypt will face New Zealand at 9 p.m.
