Argentina was seemingly out of the World Cup following a second Egyptian goal late.
But before the full-time whistle would sound, Argentina would mount arguably the greatest comeback in World Cup history.

Early on in the match, both sides would drive end-to-end, but neither could manage a strike.
It would take until the 15th minute before either side would see an attempt on net.
Marawan Attia would lift a long looping pass into the box where Yasser Ibrahim would meet it, burying it in and putting Egypt up early.

But Argentina would get an opportunity just minutes later following a foul in the box.
Lionel Messi stepped to the spot, like he has done plenty of times before.
Messi would strike it to the right, but Mostafa Shoubir would make the save and keep Egypt ahead.
And Shoubir would make yet another incredible save in the 28th minute, denying Alexis Mac Allister a chance to equalize.
But Shoubir was not done there.
Another incredible chance for Argentina in the 39th minute saw the Egyptian goalkeeper make yet another incredible save.
Argentina would continue to press for an equalizer but could not do so before halftime.
With their one-goal lead, Egypt would continue to play defensively, looking to smother any Argentine attack.
But in the 58th minute, it would be the Egyptians on the counterattack, taking advantage of a great run from Haissem Hassan.
Hassan would foot the ball to Mohamed Salah who would then slot a through ball right to Mostafa Zico.
Zico would bury the 0ne-on-one opportunity seemingly putting Egypt up by two.
But a controversial VAR review would negate the goal for Egypt due to a foul at the other end of the field.
But Zico would just not be denied.
Following yet another breakaway from Egypt, Salah would connect with Hassan on a pass out wide.
Hassan then played the ball across the face of goal, where Zico was waiting to bury it.
But this match would deliver even more drama.
In the 79th minute, Argentina would claw one back courtesy of a header from Cristian Romero.
And Argentina was not done there, finding more magic thanks to the man himself.
Messi, after failing to score the penalty, delivered the equalizer and brought the match to square one.
A dangerous free kick in the 87th minute saw Argentina with a great chance to stun Egypt and take the lead.
But Shoubir would punch the ball away, keeping the game even.
But not for long, in the 90+4th minute, Argentina would turn an Egyptian press into an Argentine counterattack.
The cross into the box from Lautaro Martínez would find the head of Enzo Fernández who headed the pass right past Shoubir.
Just like that, Argentina had scored three goals in 13 minutes to absolutely stun Egypt.
And Argentina would hold onto their 3-2 win, recording arguably one of the greatest comebacks in World Cup history.
They are set to face off against the winner of Switzerland vs. Colombia on Saturday at 9 p.m.
